The shamans in front sing the icaro of the lancha fantasma and strong visionary effects soon starts to take hold on them all. Hidden places in the earth open up and spirits arise from caves to celebrate the arrival of the Great Phantom Ship with circle dances.
You can sense the exhilaration and ecstasy of the vision � dryads and nymphs work while animal spirits dance to help the plants to flourish. On the decks are warriors, sylphs, musicians, revered gurus from India, and the great teachers from ancient China. The ship here represents the huairamama (Mother of the air), or cosmic serpent: the manifestation of the cosmic vibration which creates all matter.
Recognized as one of the world’s great visionary artists, Pablo Amaringo was renowned for his intricate, colorful paintings inspired by his shamanic visions. A master communicator of the ayahuasca experience--where snakes, jaguars, subterranean beings, celestial palaces, aliens, and spacecraft all converge--Amaringo’s art presents a doorway to the transcendent worlds of ayahuasca intended for contemplation, meditation, and inspiration. Pablo Amaringo (1938-2009) trained as a curandero in the Amazon, healing himself and others from the age of ten, but retired in 1977 to become a full-time painter and art teacher at his Usko Ayar school in Pucullpa, Peru.
