Artist's Description

Llullon Llaqui Supai - Amor fresco de los Espiritus This picture represents the sublime mystery inherent in the plant kingdom which produces the food and oxygen that animals and humans depend on. The anacondas in the water warn us of the dangerous degradation of our rivers, lakes and forests and of destroying what is for our benefit. At the top of the painting are the huge eyes of the sachamama - the Mother of the forest, while on the left the bufeos have aligned themselves to look like a plant illustrating their reciprocity with aquatic plants.

The author of Ayahuasca Visions: The Religious Iconography of a Peruvian Shaman...
